:) | LIFE

Yes I believe in fortune cookies!

THE SATURDAY NIGHT EXPERIENCE | MUSIC

Oh yeah, finally got Jody Watley's album. All the way from Tokyo! (At the time of release, it was exclusively released to the Japanese market) I heard some of it a while back including the title track and was in love. It's like an atmospheric, 70s influenced, spiritual neo-soul typa sound set in the future. I love it when artists make conceptual albums and view making music as making art. I also love it when the album is spiritually soulful and each song flows into one another. The best example is obviously one of the greatest albums of all time by one of my favorite artists of all time, What's Going On by Marvin Gaye ! An absolute masterpiece ! Would love to make an album with similar concoctions one day...

P.S. Yep, I still collect CDs.. Why? Because I am from the cassette/CD generation and I'm not a fan of how everything has become digital! Now I know how the vinyl generation must have felt but imo CDs are the best. With CDs you can be really creative with the sleeve. You can put pictures, poems, anything in there to add to your art. Lyrics can also be put in there too. Mind you, I dont buy physical copies of every album I own. I mainly buy old albums and sometimes I go into Poudland and find absolute gems for only £1! (they are all preowned but refurblished. Ive found musical goodies such as Born To Do It by Craig David and sooo many more!)

CDs always give me nostalgia. The first CD I actually owned was the dance song Make Luv by Room 5:

It was my favorite song at the time (2003) and I remember being extremely addicted to it that I had to own the single. It was number 1 for weeksss! I also owned another single Baby Boy by Beyonce! And I think I bought Justified by Justin Timberlake too.

But the album I do remember wanting soo badly was Destiny's Child's Destiny Fulfilled. I asked for it for Christmas so my big bro got me it. The album is just wonderful.

Destiny Fulfilled is such a beautiful R&B album from start to finish and I loved how all three members were placed on equal grounds. The album really felt like a great finale to Destiny's Child's time as group. I used to always listen to it before going to bed and my favorite song was Game Over, the bonus track. Perfect ending to the album:

My big bro continued to buy me more CDs such as Janet Jackson's All For You, Ciara's Goodies and Estelle's The 18th Day. Haha, I talk about this like it was 20/30 years ago when it was merely 10. But I've only lived for 21 years!

Anyways, heres a song from Jody Watley's album. So smoooooth!

I'M WAVEY. | LIFE | INSPIRATION

Yes, I know I've got this really weird face that you either love or hate.. That's the kind of responses I've always got. Mehh.

Anyways I took these pictures for something quite special to me which is on its way very SOON! And I can't wait to just put it out there simply because of all the procrastination I've been making + my lack of confidence in doing this thing.

I took these pictures inspired by these beautiful ones:

Diana Ross and Bianca Jagger

My photos just don't compare to these two beauties!!

I also bought new hair today as well as a couple of thrifts; a long figure-hugging black dress and a black and gold bag:

I also bought a GAP cream denim jacket and a Michael Jackson looking military jacket. O-M-G this MJ jacket looks and hangs just like how Michael's jackets always hung on him. It's from H&M and actually isn't vintage just second hand as I remember the jacket from H&M's 2009 season.
Military jackets made quite comeback them times due to Balmain's revival of them in their 2009 spring/summer collection.

The collection was inspired by the man himself and during 2009 before he died he was spotted wearing Balmain quite a lot.

I'll probs wear it this weekend with a white vest (have to steal his look! Esp with my curly hair xD) and punk looking skinny jeans. I will take pictures if I wear this outfit and make sure to post them!

THE ESSENCE OF FUTURE GLAM | INSPIRATION

Bianca Jagger wearing a Halston dress, most stylish woman of the 1970s
A few pics from inside the hotspot Studio 54. Yep, Michael Jackson frequented the place and even stated the club was the best disco he'd ever been to. The atmosphere according to him was just amazing!

Melba Moore, 70s singer who enjoyed chart success at the time
My music mama and favorite female artist of all time, Diana Ross

Bianca again. Love the decor!

I have been in LOVE with the 70s era ever since I discovered its greatness! My main love is 70s music, as I have expressed before, specifically 70s disco and funk. I'm also a fan of the disco scene and fashion of the time. I believe the 70s era is the essence of my made up 'glam-futurism'. The 70s was clearly a time of true glamour. If you look in past pictures, 1920s flapper style was back in vogue at the time, Women were wearing turbans, sequined dresses, smoking their cigarettes f from cigarette holders and it was all about the fur! They were also donning the Halston dresses, a popular designer at the time and A-list celebrities were always seen at the biggest nightclub hotspot in Manhattan, New York, Studio 54.

I always say that the 70s made a slight comeback in the late 90s (bell bottoms, cowl draping, head scarves, etc). But that time had futuristic elements to it as well, especially with the rise of minimalism, such as a huge advancement in technology and the coming of the millennium. The main reason why I am so obsessed with late 90s/early 00s fashion.

I'm so inspired by these looks, deffo must tries on nights out. In my glam-futurism vision, this essence paired with city sky scrapers, floor length windows, nights out on the lit-up streets of London is the ultimate glamorous future!

MORE RANDOMS | LIFE

More randoms for ya!

This was on the day of my birthday after attempting to straighten my hair :( It reverted straight away, leaving my hair looking like a blowout. My friend said its because my hair is virgin, meaning I have never put anything on it, including straighteners, so it's not used to such manipulation. I still loved my hair though.

Friends came round to my house, so did my dad and we ate, drank, sang happy birthday and just had a chilled evening.

Next day was my friends 23rd birthday celebrations. We were late lol! So by the time it hit 12, we just reached the bar so we took pics, loadssss. A few made the cut lol. This was my look. I dress how I feel on the day. That day I felt quite afrofuturistic...

Fruity shots! Lemon, bubblegum and cherry!

DON'T TAKE AWAY THE MUSIC | OOTD/OOTN | LIFE

This post was LONG overdue!
It was my birthday on the 1st of  October, independence of Nigeria and I turned 21! And I give all the glory to God, the Most High!

This image was taken in the car the day before when I just accepted my look for the night. I initially ordered an outfit from MissGuided for next day delivery which failed to arrive on time so I was pissed off! On this day we ordered a new carpet for our home and so a lot was going on during the day. I couldn't make it to my hair appointment and the clock was against me to get ready on time. Since I missed my hair appointment to straighten and style my hair I quickly rushed to Argos to buy hair straighteners. Got home and it was just far too late so I just opted for my afro kinky lace wig lol. My make up was rushed too and in the end I just decided to wear a beautiful vintage Hermes satin dress I bought from the charity shop months ago. I was glad that at least I had an occassion to finally wear it.

In the toilets of THE SHARD! My bro took me and my mum out to Hutong in The Shard to have dinner for my 21st. It has always been my dream to eat there since I am in love with the futuristic city view and contemporary feel The Shard provides. I felt like I was living the glam-futuristic dream! Look at how nice their toilets look lol.

View.

Some of our food.

My bro who pulled out all the stops!

Family cheers

It looks futuristic so I took a pic lol.

This pic encapsulates my whole night.

Beautiful.

It's hard to find the original versions of old songs on Soundcloud, only remixes, so heres a youtube audio instead:
